Hi, my name is Abike Anoka and I am the founder of Tyme 2 Organize.
We specialize in providing professional organizing services in the DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia areas.
There is so much I want to share with you but I will do my best to make my introduction brief. Although I would love to tell you that my curiosity turned obsession of organizing began in my childhood, but that would be so far from the truth.
My adventure began after the birth of my daughter three years ago. I was so excited about this new bundle of cuteness, but was growing increasingly frustrated and beyond overwhelmed as the bottles, laundry, work, grad school, and all things motherhood were caving in on me. I knew then there had to be a change, and quickly. That night, at 3am, the thought hit me “tackle one area at a time.” I started with the kitchen.
There was a shift that I really couldn’t explain, but I knew I wanted more of it. The more I organized, the less I needed to be perfect. I focused more on enjoying motherhood and returned to my first love: creativity. Fascinated by fun, efficient and cost-effective DIY projects, I designated a permanent home for everything that excited and inspired me. If I had double or could not decide the use for it right then, I tossed it.
Organizing is much more than putting things away. It is about cultivating a space that is a reflection of you from the inside out. By making small changes to my physical space, it became clear that “outer” order equals “inner” calm. If I can do it, so can you!
